Skin Repair - For Those Who Dare

Have you ever tried making your own skin lotion? This is a wonderful recipe I have and would love to share it. I would typically recommend this recipe for pregnant women because it works so well in preventing stretch marks, however, it will work for those who are not pregnant. This lotion will definitely moisturize skin and bring aid to dry, cracked areas. The biggest plus is- You know what is inside of it so you know that you are not putting any chemicals on your skin.

Formula F oil-

5 tbsp sesame oil ( sub w/ cold pressed grape-seed if needed)
3 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp avocado oil
1 tbsp wheat germ oil
few drops of edible essential oil (peppermint, rosemary,etc)
Mix in a clean empty bottle, shake well, and keep refrigerated.
* A little goes a long way

For aid in stretch marks:
Mix contents of 6 vitamin A tablets and 8-10 Vitamin E tablets, this should make about 1 cup.

*Vitamin E is a great tool in skin scar repair. It will even help acne scars.

Note to pregnant women- Eating foods rich in zinc, as well as vitamins A, C, and D, can improve skin's quality to prevent stretch marks. Nuts, fish, citrus fruits, carrots, and eggs are all skin friendly foods. Keep skin hydrated by drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water per day. Soft skin will be more supple and less prone to tearing.

GMO's

I have recently watched a movie with my husband called "The Future of Food". This movie is very informative and talks about Genetically Modified foods that have been over filling our grocery store shelves for the past decade. Currently, there is no law requiring GMO labeling. If you are interested in viewing this and learning more about engineered foods, you can find the movie here by copy and pasting this link unto your URL- http://www.hulu.com/watch/67878/the-future-of-food
